Shining Sea Bikeway Cape Cod. Had an appt in N Falmouth and got 30 miles in on a lovely day, on the Bob Jackson. Still the smoothest bike I’ve ever ridden!

A reminder on today's ride. Incredible weather for Fall! in NJ.

Here's one from today. A secret little dirt road, one of my favorite places to ride, so secret that there aren't even any Strava segments along its hilly 5 mile loop length.

...and here's one from Saturday. One of my favorite bike pics that I've taken so far.
Should any Paceliners be interested in a tour of the sublime sometimes rolling, sometimes mountainous dirt roads around the northern area of the Shenandoah Valley, I would be very happy to oblige. |
Yes, old timers in NE would put pig food around tree stumps they wanted to get rid of. The rooting pigs would eventually expose the roots and make stump removal easier.

Wales and Peak District UK
Got back last week from 2 week bikepacking trip. Did the Trans Cambrain Way in Wales, Part of the Traws Eyryi route, and the High Peak Trail in Derbyshire, plus lots of misc routes. Rain. Did I mention Rain? Oh, and the steepest damn hills my 72 year old legs have ever climbed, like 15-20+ percent. Dang! Bike is Lynskey Ridgeline Ti, bags are my design and make.

Oh wow, those pictures trigger the imagination. Can't...no wait, prefer not to imagine schlepping all that gear up 15-20% hills. Hopefully the scenery was at least a little bit of a pleasant distraction from the agony.

Notice on the first pic I had no rear mudguard. The routes traversed sheep country. I mean through the pastures. Mingling with the sheep. Lots and lots of sheep. Even more than that. Zillions. Sheep, er, relieve themselves often. A bunch. Then the rain hits, converting the poo to 'artificial mud'. Notice that in the latter pics I DO have a rear mudguard. 'Nuff said. |
