Pittstown, NY, last Saturday . . .

There’s not much better than a great gravel ride with great friends. Saturday I rode a bit over 25 miles in the beautiful hills near Pittstown (east of Albany, NY) with fellow gravelers. The fall colors are beginning to peep out of the trees and fields as we hurtled down the descents and pedaled far more slowly up the hills, some of which were pretty steep! A great day! (Photos with Panasonic Lumix ZS200 and iPhone 13 Pro.)

It's A Wonderful Life

This bridge in Califon, NJ, is a key feature in the book and film It's A Wonderful Life.

After 3 days of rain a wonderful Fall day for riding. I finally got the Moots YBB, with Steelman fork, that passed on to me setup so I could ride it comfortably. Very smooth and 8 speed XTR shifts beautifully. It's about a 1996, Moots doesn't have records for early Moots. More photos here: https://forums.thepaceline.net/showt...ighlight=Moots

Napa Valley LDT C+ Route

Joined the Western Wheelers at their annual Napa Valley LDT weekend rides, only did the Saturday route C+.
The view around Lake Berryessa is just spectacular, appreciate the long climb up Ink Grade being gradual, nothing super steep and then the descent down on Deer Park road to Silverado is just so much fun.
Definitely one of the best rides I have ever done on a bike.

Did an out and back this morning on the Arizona trail starting at PicketPost trailhead 45 minutes east of Phoenix.

Weather is finally cooling opening up a lot more options nearby!

I learned why it’s maybe smart to wear protective shorts over my assos bibs and at times wished for my deerskin motorcycle gloves. Looks like I fought a few nasty cats with seemingly hundreds of pricks and scratches on all legs hands and arms due to very prickly bushes alongside and growing into the trail in some areas

Just cruising around town this morning will storm clouds kept blowing through with some dusting so of rain.

A different ride than the C.F. road bikes I did a bunch of miles on this week.

Fall colors

Snowbasin Mt peaking over the hills.

Sandhill Cranes

And it hasn't even rusted away yet....

The bustling downtown....

Hard to shoot today with all the uneven lighting.

Fairholme Campground, know this very campsite on Crescent Lake quite well, over the past 10 years likely spent at least a month in this spot, spread out over that time. I have seen a family of 6 racoons all freshing up on those fallen trees one morning.
