Today's ride was all about supporting a Wounded Warriors Ride. My miles were only gotten as I leap-frogged around the ride getting into position for another series of shots. I'm still processing them all but here's a sampling.

On top of the hills and distance, they had to deal with being at about 5000 ft above sea level in the valley. Must have made the hills that much harder for a lot of them. Much respect!

28 miles alone since my wife rode yesterday and didn't want to go back out today.

A little gravel:

Some of the trees are changing leaf color as a reminder that September is upon us.

The Zank continues to perform flawlessly.

James - great photos, and what a lot of intense blue! Thanks for that. Our daughter that was in Logan doing a post-doc research position at Utah State is now in Houston on faculty at UH. It has been at or above 100 degrees F for almost two months and, although they like Houston, I bet she wishes they were back in Utah for a while. Thanks for all your great photo shoots.

Only one "post ride" shot today. Did about a mile on this old Holdsworth after building it back up this morning. This will be my recovery bike after the next knee replacement. Got stung in the calf yesterday on my ride and my foot is now too swollen to fit into my cycling shoe.

Was riding it with slippers. Didn't want to do more since I put it together while drugged up on Benadryl and no telling what I forgot to do in terms of final assembly/safety stuff, LOL!

Remember the first holsworth I ever saw. 1971 bike shop Burlington, Vt had just started selling them. Was amazed that chain stays were not dimpled, had not seen that before.

According to the serial number chart I found it's a 1976. Same serial number is on the fork steerer also so at least they are a match.

Still trying to get my head around this one! The flyer was a bit faded and I did cover the address and further fade the phone # but it is not a fake... at least by me.

From a recent bike tour I did with a good friend of mine. Started in Eugene, OR and spent two days riding up the Willamette Valley. Then we rode over to Lincoln City on the pacific coast, down to Florence, and then back to Eugene. “Credit card” touring, no camping, but no sag wagon either.
