From Sunday's ride. Stayed out for 47 miles to get me over 200 for the week.

The ride today was an 80's Gianni Motta

Local Farm

The water looks so inviting

Abandoned cabin

Another shot of the bike

The smell of fresh cut hay still takes me back to my youthful days on our own farm.

Backroads

Rustic Fence

Monastery

Cool ol' relic

Not a ride, but I did finally manage to snag a Half Dome permit this week. I love Yosemite.

File under: Bucket List hikes I’ll never do. Doesn’t play well with my vertigo.

Not sure when you'll be getting there, what your schedule looks like, or if you have a bike with you but Tioga Road is open only to cyclists tomorrow 7/21.

It’s gaudy. But pretty. Seeing it means I’m done with the toughest stretch of my daily.

Girl twin dad,
Our daughter is now in the Biology & Biochemistry faculty at the University of Houston, but she recently did a 2-year post doc research position at Utah State in Logan, Utah. I visited in 2022 and she and I visited the Mormon sites in Salt Lake City on my last day there. The temple was under construction, but here are a couple pics from that visit:

The old Tabernacle, where the Tabernacle Choir did PBS Christmas specials:

You may not be interested, but a couple Mormon-related books I read that were very good were: Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer and Prophet's Prey by Sam Brower.

Eclipsed 30k

Reached 30,000 miles on my Moots this evening. Rides as well today as the day I brought her home. Just been a great bike. Few shots from my ride through Grand Haven today.

30 miles with my wife on a nice summer day in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia that got a little windy toward the end of the ride - and in the wrong direction!

Took out the old Raleigh Technium Super Course I tore down to bare frame this winter and rebuilt with a nice Ultegra/Dura Ace setup.

My PT Clinic dungeon of doom!

The bike at the back of the Blacksmith shop.

The bottom end of Pineview with Snowbasin in the background.

Outside of Huntsville.

A morning float in the cove.

A beautiful mix of aluminum triangle with steel lugs and stays.

Downtown Huntsville.

Heading back to Eden.

James, are you a retired physical therapist? "PT clinic" sounds like a yes. Our daughter that was doing a two-year post-doc research position at Utah State in Logan (near you), is now on faculty at the University of Houston, so no more visits for me to the Wasatch mountains in Utah, but she and her family are currently baking in Texas heat. Houston has an ideal temperature for about 9 months of the year, but during dead summer, nope! Thanks for the great pics.

A small selection of photos from a recent trip my wife and I took to the Dolomites. We stayed at a local bike friendly "wellness/Sport Hotel" that was great, excellent guides for the rides, and the scenery and bike riding is amazing.
