Belle Grove Plantation - like its sister plantation (Long Branch) about 10 miles to the east, it's a historical site today, but was a slave-worked plantation before the civil war.

Took the Pegoretti out in the sauna. Opted for no coffee stop even though I rode to a cafe.

Well....this morning I just couldn't control myself. I had said no rides on the 41 year old, newly built up Krapf bike until it got the custom wheels from Peter on it. But I just couldn't resist this morning. Mainly just cruised around making sure all was well on it. Then for 2 mile section I use for testing I finally opened it up. Man did it take off, hit a top end of 31 mph and I felt like I needed another gear over the 53/13 max I had. Forgot to hit the inhaler so I was wheezing once the HR hit the upper 160's. This ol' beauty will certainly move!

Still a fair amount of snow on the high peaks. The building on the left is my PT clinic where I'm rehabbing the knee replacement.










Took the Krapf back and grab the Olmo that I had put new wheels on this morning and fixed some minor shifting issues. This was only the second time taking this out and I wanted to see how much faster it would run the speed section over what the Krapf did. Surprisingly, I couldn't get the same high avg speed nor get it over 29 mph despite better gearing. I was not tired, HR lower than the other run, and the legs felt Ok. The bike seemed to be holding me back, hmmmm.
