I think he might be the Cyclist of the Year after all.

How relieved do you think Remco is that Pog decided to sit out the Olympics?

He's silently thanking the Slovenian Olympic Committee for snubbing Urska.

For sure. I wonder how that worked out for that coach …

The Olympics is not the pinnacle for all sports. Golf, tennis, cycling and basketball for example. The time of year affects cycling.

Announcers and the general public make winning these events sound more important than they are.

I am not so sure Pogacar would have ridden even if his girlfriend wasn’t snubbed. He has had a busy schedule with more important races.

Pog might win every race he enters next season, but his decision to wear white bibs with the rainbow jersey is TOTAL FAIL!!!
Please, for the love of all things Holy, somebody tell him to wear black bibs!!!!

I have to chuckle at the folks saying he is boring as a rider. But I guess that is their call. Me? Been watching cycling now since 1980 or so and can only say I feel rather honored to be watching one of, if not the, best racers to ever ride. We are lucky to see this stuff. Class kid as well which is rather rare in our sport at that level.

so why did Tadej sit out Olympics? Does Olympics have stricter anti-doping tests?

As has been mentioned, men’s road cycling as an Olympic sport is not a Blue Riband event. TP’s season was complete enough without being on the line in Paris. I doubt WADA or any testing authorities have anything to do with the decision.

ps

arrange disorder

Because the Slovenian Cycling Federation, in its wisdom, decided not to bring Urska Zygart to the Olympics, although she is by far the highest ranked Slovenian woman on the WWT.

Urska also happens to be Pogi's fiancee.

Oops.

But, as stated before, Remco was very happy the SCF screwed up and Tadej got mad.

there is nothing about him that I find boring. What is getting a little less interesting for me is watching races he's in. Once UAE decide it's time to launch Tadje it's game over and usually with 60+Km to go. No one even bothers to go with him and then it's a race for podium spots and listening to the commentators go on endlessly about what an amazing freak T.P. is. So, when I know from the start who will win and more or less how it will be done I'm less likely to watch the race until the end. Today when he took his flyer and no one even bothered to jump with him I completely lost interest. All of which is on me of course and probably for the best. Had a great ride today. Hope all of you did too.

Evenepoel must have been on the limit when Tadej attacked as he did not speed up at all.
I don't think Tadej was even going 100% after he dropped everybody.

They very briefly (for about 10 secs) showed his stats about 90 secs after he attacked - he was seated at the time: cadence of 105 RPM, 495 watts.
