It was a windy morning here in RVA! Felt like it almost blew me right off my bike a few times.

It's forsythia bloom time in western NJ

Beautiful day, and the entire upcoming week looks perfect.

Acadia

Our annual club ride in Acadia NP. Most of the park loop road is still closed to cars. Chilly day, but lovely nonetheless.

It always amazes me that, when temps are near freezing, there is always someone wearing shorts.

it was a shorts and short sleeves kind of day today. Still a crisp strong westerly though.

The underdressed guy in shorts with the Pinarello was an unprepared Bowdoin college student. We all gave him some spare layers for the second lap since he was pretty chilled! The other guy just always wears baggy shorts for some reason!

Yeah the guy in the baggy shorts looks just like Bill does in our group. With the sun out he might have the jacket slung over his shoulder like a civil war era soldier. The guy always had a very different metabolism, and he sure loved to eat. He couldn't find bibs that were comfortable or he couldn't see himself wearing them.

For those in Central Oregon, you will need to wait a bit for 242 to be rideable. Today right before the sweeping curve about a mile before the east side snow gate.

The snow is finally releasing its grip on our roads out here. On the 97th day of January spring finally started to break through.

Here's a shot of the debris that remains from an avalanche in the canyon that happened in January. Remarkable to see just how much material came down (the canyon was closed for a few days while they cleaned this one up). (To clarify: this is what's left of the cross-section at the side of the road. Still a good 20 feet tall on both sides of the road.)

Also always surprises me to see just how quickly the snow melts once the sun comes out.

So good to be back out on the road!

Gorgeous spring day here. Folks starting to hit the beach. Spirits are brighter. People out and about. Riding, running, and walking. And Monday is a rain, snow mix. Ahhh, Michigan.
