Today I journeyed out west of New York’s Capital Region to Cooperstown, but the Baseball Hall of Fame looked boring. So instead, HilltopperNY, CNY Rider and I drove up Chicken Farm Road on the east side of Otsego Lake to the Star Field preserve and mountain bike trails. The fields, woods, and scenic vistas must be stunning in the summer. I’m sure they were pretty today, too. But after the first ten minutes my eyeballs were frozen, and I was too busy trying to keep up with CNY and Hilltopper on the crunchy, icy trails. But seriously, folks, it really was a fun time as we rode around for a bit over an hour in temps that were 18 when we started and up to a balmy 23 when we finally got back to the cars. Then we headed for the wonderful Ommegang Brewery—which was so full we didn’t even try to go inside. So, we headed over to Council Rock Brewery—which was closed. So we headed into town to the Doubleday Café—which was closed. Sigh. So we finally ended up across the street at Danny’s Market & Deli, with wonderful sandwiches and a warm place to sit! A great day! Still have the gravel tyres on the Moose Goose, did a little 2 hour ride today.

Before I was done with the first 30 minutes I put my foot down in a bit of a flooded section of trail.

That wet foot really began to suck an hour into the ride. Did a loop up thru Harvard Forest and Bradley Palmer

Came back thru Myopia Hunt Club, no horses, but it sure looked pretty. Oh yeah and damn was my foot hurting.

Errands Down Island, so a loop through Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, and Edgartown. East Chop Lighthouse and Ocean Park. Of course a stop on the way back at Morning Glory Farm for a giant pecan sandie cookie.

Great pics. I grew up 30mins away from Cooperstown and had no idea there were trails there. Would love to get back there on a bike one day. Looks like a lot of fun!

. . . until CNY rider had us meet him there. He said trails go all the way north to Glimmerglass State Park, though we didn't go that far.

Looks like there's some others, too: https://www.alltrails.com/us/new-yor...ountain-biking

Photos from your rides.

A cool, damp, 37 deg Oregon morning. Was glorious.

Thank you!...as I love riding in Santa Cruz.

Alas no, this is Wilsonville, OR (where I live). It is about 5 miles from my house. It's called Parrot Mtn. There are about 8 different ~1,000 ft ways to climb the hill. Some gentle. Some brutal.

Ya gotta get up to get down!!!

We sure have some crazy riders on the forum. Or maybe hard-core.

Either way, I'm impressed.
