Out of the stand and first ride completed, 41 miles. Did everything well, but didn't wow. We'll see how it goes after more miles.

Not specifically, but truing stand...

CX season is almost upon us, so I reglued 3 pairs of tubulars.

I'd forgotten how time consuming all the gluing is and how much skill is involved to not get glue all over the rims, tires, and your hands

I've used almost half a can of Vittoria glue.

A fading skill set, practiced by fewer and fewer of us … I enjoy the ritual. But three sets at once is pushing it!!

Almost done refurbing this one. New Veloflex Corsa Evo tires today. New bar tape and some bottle cages and it should be done and ready to go to someone to appreciate. Well and one last polish and wax to make sure it's a clean and shiny as it can be.

Thanks to nate pal posting about this 300 bucks Ti frame offered over in the UK by Planet X, I jumped on it. It got delivered yesterday. I was shocked at the quality of the frame, nice clean welds, loads of clearance, engraved headbadge.

The build was easy and pretty straightforward,everything went in as they should, no issue whatsoever, I am about 97% done before it got dark so finish it up tomorrow and do a proper road test plus picture taking for the complete bike.

54cm. Slow progress. Hydraulic lines / brakes done, etube wires / battery / post done. Waiting on proper T47 BB tool to arrive in the mail... Will hopefully be able to cut the steerer down after I get the fit settled. Wanted to leave it long for now just in case..

The latest project I've been hacking away at for awhile. Had to make some compromises but I think it turned out ok. Still some drivetrain noise that I think is a RD hanger a bit off. I'll have my LBS check that for me as I don't have the tool.

I was trying to make the crazy paint on the frame stand out so I went with the DA 7800 instead of black components.

Quick shot I just took as I finished up. 19 lbs 12 ozs.

Building up a “first road bike” to give to my nephew. The frame is a Chinese carbon that I’ve had laying around for over a year. It’s getting a 105 10 speed groupset. It won’t be anything special when I’m done, but hopefully he catches the road bike bug and this will be the 1st of many.

Funny the roadblocks you run into as a home mechanic. I've been working on my own bikes forever, but always seem to be missing the right tool etc for this more modern stuff.
Latest is I am waiting for BB tool to arrive in the mail so I can properly tighten the internal T47 cups.
Threw the cranks in just for a pic... And will hopefully be removing at least a cm of spacers under the stem, but wanted to leave it high for now just to be sure about the fit.
BTW - both the wheels (Aeolus Pro 51) and the frameset are from our forum member 'Baron Blubba'. Was great to deal with, highly recommended.
