James, you are a kindred spirit. I love your rides.

Riding roads like picture #2 on road tires is the kind of ride that puts the biggest smile on my face.

We can hang.

Back out again this morning for 41 miles. I've been off this week so it's nice getting these cool morning rides in instead of the hot after work ones where the temps are in the 90's. My asthma did get me today for some reason at mile 18. No big deal though, just took it easy and kept on pedaling.

Love the green hay fields

This Coppi is fast I wanted to go after so PR's because the legs felt great but the lungs had other ideas.

The mountains are getting really dry up on top

Something nice about white fences like this

Looking towards one of the wildlife management areas

Got out early to try to beat the heat and the crowds up the canyon. Managed the former, but not the latter. Still, an incredible day in the mountains. Can't complain.

First light on the peak of Timpanogos. Shade in the canyon = welcome respite from July temperatures

So many cars at every single trailhead! On the one hand, it's good to see so many people out. On the other hand, it's awfully nice to be up here without the crowds.

Hume Road

This is a lovely little roller coaster that connects two climbs in the Santa Monica mountains, it's super fun but today I stopped to capture some shots of the group.

Last fun ride from this week off. Back to the reality of work tomorrow and hot afternoon workout rides. Today I just hoped on the 37 year old Fuji Opus III for a lazy 42 miles around the valley.

Of course, every NYC rider knows exactly where this photo was taken. The classic Henry Hudson escape route from the city. Sunday was such a beautiful day of riding, it seemed like every cyclist in the area was cooking along 9W and the Henry Hudson!

Beautiful weekend. Nice low humidity mornings.

Took a ride out to a western NJ farm to meet the family. Band was having a great time, ate some good food, saw some goats. Good times.

Also, I have been absolutely abusing the carbon open pros and the veloflex tires on this bike and they are taking it all in stride. I say the current UST carbon open pros are true to their namesake of being modern do-it-all performers.

Seeking shade and a cool ride on a hot and humid day.
Gravel, too!
Some mud, though.

Not the best photos but It was great to get in a few rides around Bonnieux and the Luberon. Not as much as I would have liked but more than I thought the family situation would allow; These photos are a ride based around Rousillon.

I did bring shoes in hopes it would work out . Last minute bike rental from Rent Bike Luberon was easy and while the fit was not as personal it did the job.
