How often do you go riding down a dirt road and come across a trapeze school in the woods?

Back out this morning for a lazy 31 mile Independence Day ride. Today was the 30 year old PDG Paramount.

Got out early but the town square was already a circus even though it was two hours before the parade.

Stayed mainly on the backgrounds to avoid traffic. Beautiful morning out.

Part of my basic daily route.

Only patches of snow on the mountains. On a good snow year they'd be skiing up there today.

Hay cutting season. This old farmboy still loves the smell of fresh cut hay but doesn't miss the work...well....not too much.

The good part of the bike path available to me to use occasionally when it's safe to get on there.

Even though it was morning I was surprised to see so few people and boats on the lake. I guess the crashed economy and outrageous gas prices kept people home.

Closing in on the house.

About a mile to go now.

road tripping and ended up on the Rainbow rim trail. So beyond epic. Camping 50 yards from the trailhead. We saw only one other person riding.

Spent the 4th of July at a friend's farmhouse in Appalacia. Some beautiful riding with some utterly heartbreaking hills. Holy moly! Had to walk up a few 14% grades.

I'm never going to compete with the posts on this thread...both the quality of the photographs or the awesome rides...that is at least right now!

Today it was super hot & humid and I portaged my 4 year old to daycare in the Bullitt cargo bike along the lakefront in Chicago. From our house to daycare it's about 8 miles. It was super fun but took a little longer than I anticipated. I have money for ice cream for the return trip so it'll be a fun afternoon. Maybe we'll hit the beach up to cool off.

Today was the 4th day of riding my patriotic bikes. 40 miles around the valley on a variety of mixed surfaces.
