real name: Isaac Neff

* where do you live? Madison Wi

*Occupation: Owner of Neff Cycle Service

* explanation of your handle: It's my name!

* explanation of your avatar: I should do that.

* age (general or specific): 30 years old

* favorite bike: Not sure I really have one. I still have my first decent mtb I ever owned, a 98 Nishiki Cascade, I also still have my 2002 DeSalvo custom SS mtb. Neither are necessarily my favorites, but I don't want to sell them.

* what's in your stable? Currently about 10-15 ridable bikes, more frames. Road, CX and MTBs rotate yearly. I am "supported" by Van Dessel for cyclocross and Rocky Mountain for mtb. I also own bikes from Cannondale, Waterford, Gunnar, Soma, Kona, Burly and others.

* fastest speed on a road bike? where? Lots of roads around Madison that you can easily hit 45+ on. I remember hitting well over 60mph on a road somewhere in MT once a long time ago.

* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year? I think about 7000-7500 miles on the road (plus another 2-3k on the mtb and some unrecorded around town miles)

* picture of yourself or your ride?

* make up and answer at least one additional question. How did you get into cycling? I loved bike from an early age and started riding my bike to the local shop at about 10-11. My mom talked the shop owner into letting me help out when I was 12. When it was legal to hire me, I started working there more. The rest is history, I have been working on and riding bike since!

* what is the biggest lie you've ever told: I am literally the worlds worst lier. Every time I lie the person I am lying to seems to instantly know I am not telling the truth!

* and, something fun. I just got married in September!

Don't keep track of mileage w/ a computer anymore, but I try for 6-8 hrs/wk on a bike these days.

Past bikes: BMC Racemaster SLX01; Tsunami AL road bike; Surly LHT.

Current stable: Serotta Cyclocross picked up here on Paceline, set up as one-bike to rule them all. Sycip Classic Diet Unleaded MTB.

Something fun: highlight of the year was taking a dozen high school students on a backpacking trip on the AT this summer. Unforgettable to see their joy at watching the sunset from a firetower at 3600'.

* real name, Fridrik
* where do you live? Brooklyn
* explanation of your handle Icelandic nickname
* explanation of your avatar apathy
* age (general or specific) 33
* occupation Producer
* favorite bike Trekko
* what's in your stable? Currently, a Trek 5500 and a Surly Cross Check with a Crust Cargo Fork, used for costco runs and taking my big fat dog places he otherwise wouldn't be able to go
* fastest speed on a road bike? Actual, Perceived or Strava-claimed? In order: Actual: probably something like 60-70km/h some place upstate, Perceived: gliding between cars in Midtown NYC, Strava Claimed: Like 130km/h because gps gets all weird between the skyscrapers
* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year? Embarrasingly few, but as it's my first year in which I actually consider myself a cyclist, as opposed to someone who's too cheap to take the train, it's all up from here
* picture of yourself or your ride? Need to work on this one
* make up and answer at least one additional question. What's the most ennoying flat you ever got? Cycling from NYC to Danbury CT to pick up a Kurzweil k2500RS, I a: didn't pack a tube or pump or anything (i know..), b: didn't realize the Kurzweil was going to weigh ~30lbs which probably contributed to my rear wheel popping as I was passing through Cannondale (the place) I think proceeded to knock on every single door I could find there but somehow didn't find a single person who even had a bike so I wound up waiting 2 hours for the train back
* what is the biggest lie you've ever told that just brings back bad memories
* and, something fun. When riding a bike with a bike frame slung over your shoulder, on way to shop, or friend's place with the right tools, if you orient the bottom bracket the right way, it can make a pretty neat sound

* real name Will
* where do you live? Bay Area, CA
* age Early 30s
* favorite bike Cyfac Cadence
* what's in your stable? Working on this...
* fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? Hmm...probably 50s, Skyline Drive (in Virginia)
* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year? Can't say for sure
* make up and answer at least one additional question. The closest I've ever come to getting run over wasn't by a car, but by the morning bicycle rush in Amsterdam, where I was for work last fall. I've never seen so many bikes in my life, and almost learned the hard way not to walk with earpods in. It was also remarkable to see the variety of people on bikes...executives, retirees, students...everyone, regardless of age or station, seemed united in their devotion to 2-wheeled transport.

Selling a few things and want to come out of the dark corner of lurking

* real name, if you like Nick

* where do you live? Santa Barbara - haven't ever ridden Refugio or anything north in Santa Ynez though

* explanation of your handle Hah.. I'm not too creative with forum names

* explanation of your avatar Sometimes you just gotta think, you know?

* age (general or specific) 22

* occupation Do all do everything type for Noble Audio

* favorite bike Bridgestone CB zip - seriously fun, seriously light, but just wish I could put fatter 26s on

* what's in your stable? Stinner road, 650b Soulcraft, Steelman SS Eurocross, Rock Lobster Eurocross, Bridgestone CB zip, early 80s Mercian townie

* fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? I haven't used strava or a garmin in quite some time - thinking somewhere down in Mulholland Canyon about 40ish plus some

* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year? Probably less than I should have ridden

* make up and answer at least one additional question. Not really a question - just more of fact. I wish I could convince myself to go out of a 30 mile ride everyday, but man, sometimes Santa Barbara is so beautiful and I find myself getting on the beater bike, cruising over to the More Mesa cliff single track, drinking a beer, and riding home after dark. It's the best riding for me mentally, but maybe not so much physically

* what is the biggest lie you've ever told I don't need anymore bikes

* and, something fun. Midweek, every week, hobo trail shenanigans that lead every single time to a great night, but sometimes too rough of a morning

* picture of yourself or your ride?
