Im actually in Houston and this is the closest gravel of any distance to me, east side, out near a small town called Anahuac. They have an annual 'Gator festival if that tells you anything about the population! I havent had a single issue yet, they normally swim off and the road is slightly above the canals for the fields. Just dont stop and try and get under those trees... if they dont get you, the snakes will.

I did get a shot of this little guy who was caught in a snap cold front we had. He was very much alive not thrilled that he couldnt get away from us.

We are in a heat wave. So the only reasonable way to ride a bike is with white rim shades.

One nice thing about bicycling is all the stuff you see on the road. I even pick some of it up. This was the haul from yesterday.

Going on 30 years + of riding and there are still plenty of new roads to discover. Today it was Tumble Falls Rd near Frenchtown (NJ). A nice loop took me to previously ridden Horseshoe Bend Rd for some nice views. Back in Frenchtown crossed into PA for some familiar hills. Bridge photo is from the Upper Black Eddy (PA) to Milford (NJ).

Very nice. I rode along side a pro there once. He asked me, "Why don't you put it in the big chainring?"

An interesting shot, as I later realized that you can see 4 separate landmasses in this photo: Randall's Island, Queens, Roosevelt Island, and Manhattan. My little lunch break excursion yesterday...
