The bar tape may be a stand in for black. It was what I had in the drawer. Cable ends are on there now. The Strong is a whopper of a good time. Oh, and the welds.

Congrats on that. Love me sum Carl Strong.

I've had 3 frames built by Carl and every one was a no nonsense all performance machine. Best descenders of all my bikes. Wish I could get my 20th Anniversary back.

So much praise and worship for this bike, I don't know, people should read his build thread on WW. It seems the design is a bit of a problem on this frame.

Visually, English + RyanH knocked it out of the park.

Could you link to the WW comment that talks about its shortcomings?

I believe this is the thread: https://weightweenies.starbike.com/f...?f=10&t=172847

Only issue seems to be the real triangle is flexy and there's some rub with the under bb brakes. Probably not a bike for a bigger rider anyway.

It really is great. Bikes that size have the best proportions (with 700c wheels) to my eye.

It ain't gotta be zoot. yo!

I've been so distracted by my Nago Exteme Power SR11, CV Superlisima SR12, SLR Race Shop Di2 Domane, Moots and Tomii CX Canti beasts I have ignored the PL acquired Black Mountain Cycles bike PL classifieds gift in the corner.

Popped on some 240s HED Black wheels with fattish All Season Grand Prix that are 33.5mm inflated and went for more than the 2 block spins after I picked it up 2023. All I did in 2023 was put on some long distance bars for a long ride that never happened. Today it got a real ride, and wow this is a great machine.

This is the perfect bike, and if I only could have one probably not much would best it IMO.

Only thing wonky to me is the 7800 STi cable exits non under tape, else looks fantastic too. Take watts plowing uphill fine.

I forgot just how buttery ST-7800 Sti shift.
