"Caroline laughs and it's raining all day
She loves to be one of the girls
She lives in the place in the side of our lives
Where nothing is ever put straight
She turns herself 'round and she smiles and she says
"This is it, that's the end of the joke"
And loses herself in her dreaming and sleep
And her lovers walk through in their coats"

tribute sunrise ride for Mo who was a wonderful, caring and talented person. Her death is beyond tragic.

Is that Mckenzie Pass?

If so, did you summit?

Yes, it is McKenzie Pass (242). I did summit. In the lava section before the observatory, thereā€™s a section of about 20 feet that you have to walk through. (It may take a while for that one to melt.) No big deal except then my toe covers got wet, ha!

Thanks. Do you know when the road is opening to auto traffic?
A group of friends would like to stay over in Bend or Sisters a couple nights and do the ride together. We did last year, but there is more snow this year.
Thanks,
Byron

Up the blue ridge parkway today. Folk art center to Mt Mitchell. Stunning weather.

On my way through Pasadena headed to Angeles National Forest on the Los Angeles Invitational. More pics and a short ride report at the bottom of the thread here:

242 opens to cars the third Monday of June. Unless we get more snow!

Itā€™s a delightful ride although the road could be in better shape (but still not bad by Central Oregon standards). And beware of riders who donā€™t stay in their lane!

I have a dream where ODOT paves the road and the road is closed to cars all year.
