Yes, it is McKenzie Pass (242). I did summit. In the lava section before the observatory, there’s a section of about 20 feet that you have to walk through. (It may take a while for that one to melt.) No big deal except then my toe covers got wet, ha!

Thanks. Do you know when the road is opening to auto traffic?
A group of friends would like to stay over in Bend or Sisters a couple nights and do the ride together. We did last year, but there is more snow this year.

It’s a delightful ride although the road could be in better shape (but still not bad by Central Oregon standards). And beware of riders who don’t stay in their lane!

I have a dream where ODOT paves the road and the road is closed to cars all year.
