Been meaning to make a post about this in production bikes but liked this pic from my ride yesterday.

A quick jaunt for some beans and a shot to get back up into the hills.

These were all from yesterday's "shakedown ride" of the 37 year old Raleigh Team USA. Took it out in it's gravel configuration to see how things went. Had surprisingly discovered that a 11-30T cassette would work on this and that the old Superbe RD could actually handle the 30T just fine. Ran the 700 x 38 tires at around 40/50 psi since I was doing mixed surfaces. Bike saw hardpacked dirt, loose gravel that was pretty deep, mud, grass, paved road and the sort of beat up local bike path. No issues on any surface although I could sure tell it was running fast rolling road tires when on the pavement.


As I took it out on the ride. Another bike I can now wear my red, white, and blue kit on.


Heading up to one of the local wilderness areas.


Still a dusting of snow up high but actually pretty dry for this time of year.


Snowmelt is pretty pathetic this year.


This should be running high and fast right now. Not a good sign.


This is closed off in the winter since Elk use the slopes when the snow becomes deep up top.


The storm coming over the Mts caught me before I got home. That was some cold rain!

Got out for a (sort of) quick Easter rip. Wind was so strong it blew the bike over while trying to take the picture. Quick reflexes were employed to avoid damage, thankfully.
