Nice. I would love- in this thread or a separate one- to hear about your experience with VeloBuild. I like that they provide a layer between overseas factory direct and the consumer with a warranty, but still have low prices. I obviously wouldn't expect *amazing* quality but has the frame been solid? Thanks!

For the price, I can't complain. Approx 400 for frame/fork/headset, 50 for custom paint, and 50 for shipping. Quoted turnaround time for painting and shipment was very accurate. Packing was thorough.

Complaints? Few. It didn't ship with plastic internal cable guides. A question about the custom paint asked after the order was placed went unanswered. Requires 160 rear brake rotors.

How does it ride? Loving it. 500 miles logged. Comfy (relative to my Klein and Tsunami AL frames) but still frisky.

So, I got out yesterday for one of the first possible times, and tried to replicate the Molly Ringwald bike-in-front-of-fabulous-vista shot. Sort of.... The west coast of New England isn't looking quite as spring like just yet

My Lynsky cross is in the foreground, a totally frozen Lake Champlain in front of the Adirondacks in the background. I was cooling down fast enough to not linger for a better shot.

Dig the Niner. Thinking I need one for the Rumble in the Ranchlands

Pre-podium Podium. These guys got a case of Oskar Blues Beer

Dang, you boys are fast... and extra props for getting second on a "road" bike!

My buddy is doing fine.... I stuck around until he got a ride out and also got a case of beer for my DFL.

I passed on the Rumble... too much driving.

I think my group of 3 represented the only SoCal riders. One of my guys took 2nd at Menso but flatted 4x yesterday (still got a few KOMs and had a total riding time of 4:30). My other teammate had top 20s at both rides and this was after being the top non pro/1 finisher at the Belgian Waffle Ride. Speaking of, BWR is the proverbial walk in the park compared to the Gravel Gauntlet Joints.
Hmm, for realz?

Good to know.

What were you riding?
The bumpy junk roads in the last 20 miles seemed super hard to deal with. I was so tired by that point and my palms were pretty sore.

I was on a white Blue Norcross with blue accents (brakes, tape, etc.).

Thanks for sharing those! My buddy Mark and I are in a couple. Is there any way I could get them?

I finished the video of the ride. It's long, but a great representation of the entire ride. http://youtu.be/0aWFZy4keb4

....and here she is

Started this thread two years ago....have had the parts for 7 weeks, but we are still moving into a new (to us) home. So, I have been spending a little time here and there. Finished it for the most part this am. Saddle and headset are placeholders. Need a new clamp for the seatpost to accept larger rails. I have a Inset 7 on its way to replace the Cane Creek 40. Stem may/most likely will change. I was planning on putting Handlebra on here, but couldn't get ahold of Ray...would still like to at some point, so Lizardskin it is for the time being.

If money was no object this would be a JKS/X and not a Salsa, but I'm not complaining...and this build would have taken an additional 2 years

Warbird Ti 55cm
Dura Ace 9001 shifters
9000 Rear Der.
CX 70 Front Der.
Dura Ace 7950 SRM Crank with Praxis Rings 52/36 (also have the 50/34)
HED Ardennes + wheelset / Shimano Icetech 60mm Rotors/ Challenge Gravel Grinder Race 38x700 Tires
Ergon CF3 Seatpost
TRP HY/RD brakes
Salsa Cowbell 2 Handlebars
