It's a good thing you have some very nice alternatives to the CT. For example:

Out of curiosity, are there any makers of a normal ospw titanium derailleur cage? Would be nice to put one on my titanium bike. Not this nonsense of course though

This stuff always existed, back in 70s it was jeweled embossed parts, I remember seeing picture of some 25K bike in a mag back then.

Then there was boron, not exactly healthy for the production guy....

Also remember (maybe they still exist) titanium chains

What jewelled embossed parts exactly?

I recall Campagnolo’s 50th Anniversary group with gold-plated highlights but at least Vicenza only asked for your lire, and not some distasteful and pathetic application to purchase to an erroneously self-appointed arbiter of design.

Beyond that I don’t have a strong opinion on this charade and to each their own.

Hambini wouldn't buy it, one of his fans would and send it to him. Maybe AB will make you sign a contract that states you won't send it to him?

None of this is any different than any thing else that's outrageously expensive for limited function/utility.

Whether it's the watches or the special edition cars or whatever... you can find someone who thinks you're cool for buying this stuff but in all likelihood the majority of people, even those who can afford to buy the stuff, are rolling their eyes at the tackiness of it all.

Pieces of translucent blue plastic glued to the two centre bolt nuts of a stopgap brakeset doesn’t approach my definition of jewelled. YMMV.

I'd tend to agree.
