I'm on a Duc 853 now and it is great but still miss the old SV. It redefined confidence inspiring. It got annoying getting my doors blown off down the front straight by the liters and hotted up 600s only to sit on their wheel by turn 3 but the world is an imperfect place. I have my hands full right now getting the Norton back into one piece before the Rocker Reunion. |

The only one I never could really get into was that CL350. It had been sitting in a barn for 10 years and mice were living in the exhaust pipes and the whole nine yards.
I stripped it down, chopped all the unnecessary mounts off the frame, used some CB600 rear sets, powdercoated the frame, blah blah blah. A lot of work for me to stand back at it and decide, "to hell with it, I'm getting another Norton". In retrospect, I think it would have looked better had I just restored the damn thing. I also have an 06 Triumph Scrambler but it is bone stock so there isn't that much reason to post it up. If you've seen a red and white Scrambler then you have seen mine.

Do you only have one Duc right now? The racing bike?
I am sure I have seen that black one in the shop. Man we need to ride sometime. |

I punted the 1000SE last Fall. I had no room for it and I sold it for more than it was worth. I should have held out and bought the Paul Smart. I still have the 853 for the track but am keeping my eyes peeled for a salvage title 675 Daytona. The Scrambler is for when the Norton decides it doesn't want to run.
The Norton will always remain. Every other motorcycle I have is always at risk of losing its scholarship. But then you already know that sickness.

Tim - Is that the new style Thruxton? What's your impression?

The upshot is that they have their own race category and with aftermarket parts they can actually get up and move. Those bikes with the Zard pipes are pure sex.
