Yup, I raced the state championship gravel race the week before last... on tires with tubes AND cantilever brakes. Clearly I was doing something very wrong...

Funny, I’ve been there since basically the beginning (well before here, oddly), and feel the same way. VPS is not a place to ask a stupid question. But ask a smart question and you’ll (usually - it’s still the internet) get a very smart answer.

Looks like they'll let anything run if the number plate isn't modified.

Went over to take a look. I seem to have missed the bicycle discussions. Pretty underwhelming. Sorta like Facebook without the pix. Big whoop! Not.

JMO of course. *** do I know?

To add to the blasphemy, it has mechanical shifting with 2X in front! Aluminum wheels handbuilt by me. And frame purchased here from the Paceline classifieds

Thankfully, promoters in upstate NY are a pretty easygoing group. No problems with cutouts made to number plates to fit around computer mounts. Photo was at another gravel race this year, but I do this anytime I'm required to use a handlebar number plate.

I don't know what VS is like now but for many years it was full of builders providing great information and serious riders - a lot more knowledge than here. I am just a recreational cyclist so I did not have much to provide.

But my experiences on that forum make me think Too Tall (Josh) is one of the great guys in cycling.
