I'm pretty sure that originally that had "Giants fans" and "Dodger fans" in place of Northern and Southern Californians, respectively.

That is not Redondo Beach, but Manhattan Beach, which is, none the less, a great place to live and police leave cyclists alone unlike the other cities.

For riding in the Beach Cities, the place to go is Palos Verdes.

If you like to climb (once PVD South is fixed (unless you want to ride the "ski jump" at Portuguese Bend and get air on your road bike)) do a loop from Malaga Cove consisting of
La Cuesta
Eastvale + Sunnyridge
Crownview
Domes
Forestal Ganado Domes ("the Big One" on Strava)
Via Victoria to top
Zumaya Coronel to Del Cero
and Whitley Collins both ways.

Manhattan Beach/Redondo Beach ... same thing.

Relative to NYC, the cops in LA County are much more tolerant of bikes. I was only ever stopped when there was a car flipped on PCH or a fire on PCH, so a real safety reason. In NYC, they do "random" bell checks to issue tickets to cyclists to fill out the budget. It's a major waste of time.
