I had plans yesterday to load my bike onto my car and head down to the river to ride the trails there but I had an entire afternoon to kill so I left the car out of the equation. I used pedal power instead for 49+ miles on my fat-tire Sarma Shaman.

It was a beautiful day to be on a bike!

Well, I am finally getting around to processing some of the videos I recorded during my Oakland trip. The first one that I just completed last night is the ascent up Mt Diablo.

Enjoy!

I took some video of my rides in the last two days in probably the best riding conditions for the entire year: temperature around 60s, bright sunny and blue sky, clear roads, crisp air...can't really ask for more.

And your roads don't have any cars on them! How nice is that!?

One pal, that's usually what happens when the King's carriage come by, everyone sort of go into recluse.

Meh, I dunno...this is an expensive neighborhood with million-dollar houses, it's around noon time, maybe folks are already out on the golf course, or staying home looking over their portfolio... I have no idea, it sure is nice. Just about the only traffic are the construction people, they are still building out the rest of the parcel of land.

Great vids Wei! Thanks for sharing.

Did I detect a left side click or creak on the climb?

Spoke pal, thanks for watching. Indeed you have. It came from the chain rubbing the front derailuer. I am working on it!

From Thursday morning's ride. I little nippy out with some frost in places on the trail but a nice morning with little wind.

A couple of recent rides. First; Lakeville to Northfield loop...

And from a couple days ago. This ride didn't start out so well because I failed to notice a thin layer of condensation on my newly sealed driveway. Never in the 1000s of times that I've done that lean onto the road in front of my house have I had this happen.

I've been off my fat-bike for a month while it's been in for service. I ditched my carbon rims in favor of some DT Swiss aluminum. I needed something more durable, something that would be a lot less likely to leave me stranded out on the trails in sub zero weather. I've gone tubeless with the new setup.

I also had my RockShox front suspension overhauled so it will function in the bone-chilling temps that will soon be the norm.

Descent of the Col du Sarenne

I made the pilgrimage from Boston to Bourg d'Oisans. A week in the Alps will do wonders for your soul. Galibier, Glandon, Croix de Fer, Alpe d'Huez, Sarenne....it's so worth every penny.

After a long travel day I got to the hotel around 4pm, went out to dinner then to bed early. By 10am on my 1st full day I was on my way up Alpe d'Huez and then over the Sarenne. A 48 mile loop with 5800ft vertical.

Just over the top of the Sarenne I came across a sheep herd (pictured). Here's a video from the 14 mile decent back to Bourg d'Oisans. Hope you like. (GoPro Hero 3 with 'Chesty' mount)

A group of us with fatbikes got together last Sunday for a fun ride along the Minnesota River bottoms. A storm dumped 6 inches of snow on our snow starved trails Monday night so we should be good-to-go for a while.

This video is about 8 years old. What I find amazing about it is that a guy I had never met, but who is now a good friend, hired a camera operator and sound guy and then flew up from L.A. at his own expense to make...a YouTube video about a ride with me.
