I'm a platform pedal only rider... Given, the MKS sylvan track pedals on this bike are a stop gap until I decide to fork over the money for a set of White Industries urban pedals.

Yesterday was a beautiful day to be out on the bike, 85 and clear as could be. I rode (most of) GG4, which this year got into the hills of JoDavies, Stephenson and Carroll counties in NW IL. Some of the gravel was hard packed and easy to ride but there were many sections with fist sized rocks, loose piles of gravel, and potholes. Those tended to be in the worst spots, meaning 3/4 way down a steep hill. I've never used the brakes as much on any other ride I've done. Lots of people walking up the steeper hills, which I had to do on two. 34-25 was not a low enough gear for me; if I stood I spun out. The next to last pic shows 3 people on the hill in the distance (one is on the left shoulder, barely discernible). They are all walking. Pictures really don't do justice to the views or the course, wish I'd stopped more often. Last pic is not on the route, I just liked the view.

They always said my head was in the clouds. Boy were they right. I like to put it back in them as often as possible, especially on Mondays, which are my Sundays.
