Moots, reusing my r8000 group. Found a 34 tooth cassette that fits a 10 sp chris king hub, also got a long cage derailleur.

Watched lots of videos on front derailleur install as I've never done it.

Hope to finish it sometime today.

I'm working on having my drop bar bikes have the same contact points (finally). The '72 Bob Jackson got a new saddle to match my other three bikes so I could have the same saddle setback on each, and 40cm bars instead of the 44cm ones that were on there. And I put on Tektro levers because the old Campy NR ones are purty but not very easy on my arthritic thumbs. Topped off with some leather bar tape, test ride tomorrow!

I don't usually prefer tan wall tires but I wish I'd gotten the tan wall 700x32 GP5000 instead of the all black ones for this bike. It will take a long time to wear these tires out, I get about 5,000 miles out of GP5000 tires and this bike gets about 400 miles/year.

This is a true Frankenbike:
- Sugino AT triple cranks, TA rings, Phil BB
- Shimano 6600/Mavic wheels with 10s cassette, 700x32 GP5000 tires
- 9s XTR RD, 10s 105 FD, 9s DA barcons
- Campy Super Record track pedals
- Origin8 bars and stem, Bontrager saddle, Thomson post, Tektro levers
- Paul Racer front, Campy NR rear brakes

I do love it and always am amazed how smooth the ride is.

Up on the stand: a preliminary build for NHAero’s vintage (ish) ride for this year’s Cino. Starting with a Austro-Daimler Vent Noir II, I’ve stripped off the original Campy Gran Sport Gruppo and ransacked the parts bin looking for things to make a comfortable wide-tired gravel bike. The result is the ultimate frankenbike:
Shimano 105 10 speed rear hub with Soma 650B rim brake rim
Shimano 105 GS 10 speed rear derailleur
Sun XCD front hub with Gran Bois 650B rim brake rim
Shimano 600 road crank triplized with TA triplizer middle ring
Shimano cartridge bearing bottom bracket
Campagnolo racing triple front derailleur
Shimano 9 speed bar end shifters
Original Cinelli bar and stem (with blasted French 22.0 stem diameter)
(these are a placeholder till NHAero sends me his preferred bars.)
Mafac Raid brakes with brand new bushings from Renehersecycles.com
Brooks C17 saddle (placeholder)
Shimano mountain bike SPD pedals (placeholder for winter testing—to be replaced with toe clips and straps)
Paul Funky Monkey rear cable hanger.

The truly amazing thing about this frame is that it was built for 700C but it has clearance for 650B x 42. And the chainstays could probably fit 650B x 48–it’s the fork that is the limiting factor.

Cino bike in profile with earlier attempt at using Paul long reach centerpull brakes. They didn’t quite have enough reach and the pads were too high on the rims.

Decided to build my Colnago C40 back up and ride it again, it's too nice a frameset to be hanging on the hook over the last 2 years or so.
