This one turned out nice, so I thought I'd share it here. This is the view from Twin Peaks this evening, just before the fog rolled back in.

Well this tree is obviously too young. But there was a huge. old tree right alongside one of the deer trails on our farm back there by New Market that was all crooked. Went up straight about 6 feet then 90 degree turn for about 4 feet and then straight back up. Always heard that indians would tie off trees to grow like that to mark trails but don't know if it's true.
I'd ride the horses to that one, stand on the saddle, climb onto that horizontal section and sit up there watching the woods. It was right on the top of the ridge so it gave to a long view of the woods all around. |

Liked this shot of Gotham I snapped on the GWB on a threateningly cloudy Saturday.

When I saw this one I wondered if someone just did that for fun. I suppose a fallen limb or tree could have done that too. |

Unreal. Perfect bike. Perfect roads.

Two favorite things
Found a new loop of mostly beautiful, long dirt roads, about 33 miles total.
The door in the background here is a perfect example of the draw-bored mortise and tenon wood joint. The pegs hold the joint tight, despite decades of exposure to the weather. This is my fav for furniture making. |
