We have an annual summer solstice sunset ride up to the top of Mt. Wilson. As a testament to people's hunger for group rides post-Covid, ~60 people showed up yesterday. Fortunately we had a slew of ride leaders and 3 SAG vehicles; only one incident descending in the dark, fortunately the guy was ok and thanks to one of the SAG folks he was able to retrieve his bike from down a steep hillside. Leading a fast 20 mile descent in the dark is an amazing experience.

On some rides,i like to take detours to streets I typically don't ride on, but know generally go where I am headed. This is one of them, that shows the juxtaposition of the nature in the Humber River and the development nearby and along the lake, and of course has a picture of my bike.

The problem with modeling is that they pay in kit and I've got enough. But at this point if they offered me a barista position I'd consider it. |

Ride to Merrill Creek Reservoir, Warren County, NJ
The Merrill Creek Reservoir is in Warren County, NJ. Located on a hilltop there are several choices of pretty climbs to get there, some harder than others. The visitor center is currently closed (COVID). There is a 3 mile tunnel to the Delaware River to deliver water to replace the river water lost through evaporation in the cooling of 14 power plants.
Edit: the dot on the map didn't show, sri. Last edited by merckxman; 06-23-2021 at 07:00 PM. |
