Houston....We have liftoff

F/F and wheels are on the way. Had beat this horse to death. Hope to get the rest of the stuff ordered today. Little out of my element on this build with the hydraulic discs ....but have some friends here that aren't.

Nice! Absolutely loving my TI Warbird! It's been a blast to ride the past few weeks... I went with avid bb7 sl and after setting them up right, they're great, I'm sure the hydros will be even nicer!

I was fortunate to pick up a ti Warbird frameset locally two weeks ago and will building it up this spring. I ended up getting a great deal on TRP Spyres, but the hydraulics sound nice.

What are you guys using for a wheelset?

Angry Catfish has a really sweet set of king R45 discs built up on hed plus disc rims they built in house with cx-Rays all in black.
If I was moving my warbird to 11 speed I'd be looking at something similar.

I've got the stock dt350 hed Belgium wheels on mine which have been pretty bomb proof.

Im having echelon john build me a set of velocity aileron for me... They'll be here in a week or two

I picked up a second wheelset for training/winter riding, an Oval 527cx, they've actually been great so far...

The Oval looks to be a heavy duty wheel. Any other details on the Aileron build? Would like to hear your impressions of both wheelsets.

That's why I only ordered Athena......

I'll have less in it than a price of a new Surly Stragger.

Nothing will happen with the build though till I get the Della Santa built.

That one is coming to Austin with me in less than a month.

Yes, the ovals are a heavy duty wheelset for me, will be my nasty weather wheels.

The ailerons should be sweet, 32h with sapim race all around. Ill post up thoughts once i get them. This will be the 3rd set of wheels I've had john build, couldn't have been happier with the other two.

The ailerons should come to about 1725g, so not lightweight, but i dont race and wanted a set that could do it all...

Size dependent.

Mine is a 56. Mate has 54 and clerances are tighter.

Fits 28 GP4s + Unos + Ultremos, challenge PR.
I can even ride challenge SB on a wide rim, regular rim it is tight.

This is with standard reach shimano breaks, obviously campy brakes would limit tire size.
