I look forward to your pictures (and some others too). It makes me feel better, envious too, but mostly just better.

Colder and cloudier here today but I took a short ride late afternoon to look at a piece of farm machinery. Gravel was better than I expected but still mushy in places. Rode through the Catholic cemetery to read the (mostly) Belgian and Irish names on the tombstones, but the lanes hadn't been plowed and there was more snow and ice than I wanted to deal with.

Lonely looking photo from a wonderful ride.

First ride of the year over 60 degrees. Glorious.

Had a great morning out with a couple of friends. Gravel riding on roadies, we got a few funny looks and a few comments as well....

Starts out quite present, not to steep, plenty of tree cover and a good road surface.

It didn’t take long and it was obvious there was a lot of rock in the trees.

Not many trees as we gained a bit more altitude.

It was steep and loose through the switchbacks. Full concentration was required!

The view at the top was magnificent, and the ride down was great. This is probably the first time I honestly thought disk brakes would be nice. For reference the climb was just under 10 miles, and 3600 ft of elevation, all of it gravel.

Short ride on a sunny cold day. Trails too icy, should have mounted the studded wheels instead! This is Echo Bridge in Newton Upper Falls, MA.
