If being cremated, could always have purge holes filled and use the frame as an urn and bury it.

Not sure where you live, but what about gifting them to a youth cycling organization or a college club?
In Tucson, this group does great things to promote kids through cycling.

Some will go to the Smithsonian and others to the Louvre.

LOL.

My son raced my Colnago as a junior, so he'll probably hang that on the wall. But I doubt many folks younger than me will appreciate some pinnacle rim brake 11 spd stuff, so yeah, dumpster it likely is.

More worried about the 911 and SL600-hoping that my s/o can liquidate them and go travel the Alps.

I have given specific instructions on what to do. If there is a need by my heirs to monetize them, they are to be entrusted to a significantly younger friend who has benefitted from my largesse in the past. If there is no significant monetary need at the time by my heirs, they are to be donated to a non-profit bike coop that helps out underprivileged youngsters wanting to ride.

Some very creative responses

As I think about this, it's way more about someone getting a bike that they really appreciate, not about maximizing dollars. Ralph's comment notwithstanding, I imagine that even in the future there will be people who would be very pleased to be riding my Firefly and Bingham as a main (or even, horrors, only) bike. I do get it that a 50+ year old Bob Jackson has a much smaller cohort of appreciation.

Even the commodity bikes like the Big Dummy will serve someone really well. That bike has a bombproof set of Peter White wheels with Phil Wood cassette hub and SON dynamo front hub.

Probably planning on using them up just right so they all crumble to dust around the time I can't keep using them anymore.

They're basically like cars to me, heavily depreciating assets/tools so not really worth collecting. I'd rather disburse money when I pass away.

When I die? I'm not gonna die. I will keep accumulating bikes from all of you who are planning to die!

Is your bike like this one-(Wright Brothers original race bike, Smithsonian Air and Space) ?

Or maybe more like one of these (bikes allowed 1 day a year, no skateboards....) ?

Either way, it's always good to have aspirations
