I'd add that the definition that we give to PEDs is somewhat arbitrary.

No, just NO. I raced clean through the early years of EPO, people died. You will need a bunch of body bags.

Bingo.

Even Chris Horner could make a comeback!

I'd love to see that it's all clean nowadays, but some of the performances this year, along with some reporting of unconventional/grey area treatments adds to some of the doubt.

I still enjoy watching racing, but the history of this sport, and the fact that many teams are still coached/managed by those from dirty eras, will always be there in the back of my mind.

i don't know, the current top guys have always raced with radios, no? that's like taking away google maps from a 20 year old whos been driving around for 4 years without a clue of where they actually are in relation to where they were 5 minutes ago.

Did we talk about carbon monoxide training yet?

Personally, I prefer a good whiff off a 6.7 liter Cummins before doing intervals.

Without some sense of what we're measuring Tadej against, this question is meaningless. Is he clean? I doubt it. Is he doping in a way which is somehow significantly different from his competition? I doubt it. So which option do I choose? He's both.

The Giro was boring because it was a foregone conclusion.

But the Tour was only boring in retrospect, for much of the race Jonas was very close, and the conventional wisdom was that the higher mountains later in the race would favor Jonas.

In any event, this generation of cycling is so much more fun to watch than the sky train era.

People say it's a foregone conclusion when Pogi lines up at a race, but last year he finished 3rd at the UCI WC race, he was 19th in 2022, 37th in 2021, and 33rd in 2020.
This year he owes a lot to Tratnik, who gave him a 20-30 second buffer that he held at the line. It was never over when he attacked 100km out.

True, but that makes it even more sad.
They’re a few though like Pogacar that seem to be able to have some race sense though. It’s something the sport needs.

Also Roglic was working for him and pulled back some attacks.
They probably had the best team performance of the race.

How much you want to bet someone found out that CO binds to some metabolic byproduct of EPO/Steroids and makes a person test clean...
