I didn't sleep this weekend. I'm beginning to hate my job.

* Real name: Everybody calls me Speedo, but my real name is Mr. Earl.
* where do you live? Old Dorp, across the river from Eel Flats.
* explanation of your handle : Everyone insists on referring to me as this. It started with my family and never stopped.
* explanation of your avatar: The Blue Hungry Rat. To my older sister that diagnosed an illness in me and I'd probably be dead if she didn't I am the 'Rat-like younger brother', I'm always hungry and when I'm not morose or cynical I'm just blue.
* age (general or specific) 43
* occupation: Mainframe operating systems technician, IBM big iron.
* favorite bike: CSi.
* what's in your stable? CSi and the Trek on the trainer.
* fastest speed on a road bike? 54mph coming down Crawford Road. 30 on the flats at the end of the Highlander.
* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year? A little over 4600
* picture of your ride? There's pics of the two CSis in the house in the gallery. Karen's beautiful blue one and the platinum one.
* make up and answer at least one additional question: "Is it a curse to see so clearly the future?" Yes. Yes it is.
* what is the biggest lie you've ever told "I only meant it to be a warning shot." Well, no, I never actually said that. You see, I am a pathalogical liar so there's been way too many to figure out which one's the biggest so I had to make one up that sounded cool. Sorry. I'm really very sorry.

* real name, if you like Tim
* where do you live? Just north of Kensington, MD
* explanation of your handle: Well, it's my name.
* explanation of your avatar: I have an idea for one.
* age (general or specific): 42
* occupation: Gov't computer geek, software support, SysAdmin
* favorite bike: Ever? I had a Bob Jackson made by Bob Jackson that was sublime. It's now in the attic, bent after a crash. So that makes my Concours my favorite current bike.
* what's in your stable? Concours, Ritchey Road Logic, Gunnar Street Dog Fixie (the Cross-bike version), 1994 Santana Arriva, some old Performance Mtn bike to pull the Burley
* fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? On the tandem 56mph on Indian Springs Rd outside Frederick, MD. We'd have gone faster, but I saw a car getting ready to pull out of a driveway and was preparing to make some evasive maneuvers. On a single, 49mph, Park Mills Rd, Frederick Cty MD.
* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year? About 2,500 miles, less than half of my pre-daddy miles.
* picture of yourself or your ride? See me and Sophie getting ready for a ride!
* make up and answer at least one additional question. What's the dumbest questions you've answered on your job? Someone called to complain they could not print from a certain software app. When I asked if they could print from other apps, they said they hadn't tried. When I had them try, it didn't work from that app either. When I asked if they had turned the printer ON, they replied, "Do you mean you really have to do that?"
* what is the biggest lie you've ever told: It wasn't me.
* and, something fun: I can put my foot behind my head.

*real name: Ritaann
No, NOT Rita. Rita and ann TOGETHER.
* where do you live? Havana, Florida. 10 miles south of the Georgia border, 14 miles north of Tallahassee (capital of Florida), 2 hours west of Jacksonville, 2 hours east of Panama City. Live in the country on 20 acres (10 are for sale), and can be at the beach in 1 hour. We've got the 4 seasons (it's suppose to be 27 degrees on Thursday), but not as severe (no snow). Cycling paradise.
* explanation of your handle: RA capital R, capital A. Back in the 80's, I swam with a guy on a Master's team who kept calling me Rita. After 100 times asking him to please call me Ritaann, he said "From now on, it's RA!" It stuck.
* explanation of your avatar: Learning this year how to descend on my bike...without fear.
* age (general or specific): Feel better than I did at 25. Knees feel 99 at times. But, I'm 49. My 50th birthday is in less than 3 weeks. Presents? You're sending me another bike?!?? (See below)
* occupation: Self-employed Licensed Massage Therapist since 1986. I also work in my local bike shop to support my "habit". I've been attending college, off & on part-time, since 2000. They'll be naming a hall after me by the time I complete this degree.
* favorite bike: My Legend Ti...sweet. Well, except for the decal scratches from my encounter with dogs in 2003.
* what's in your stable? Legend Ti 2003 I seem to be the only one with ONE bike! (See above) Actually, I still own my old Trek 2300, which was way too small, but I loaned it to a new rider.
* fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 48 mph in north GA, on a downhill w/ switchbacks, during 6 Gap, in the mid 90's.
* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year? 8,001 in 2003. I'm at 9250 for 2004, trying for 9500, but other responsibilities come first right now. Projected goal for 2005 is 10,000 miles. I've committed my miles to raising donations of $1.00 per mile for $10,000 for the Davis Phinney Foundation.
* picture of yourself or your ride? I believe BBDave put one from the open house on the board. If you go to my shop's website, click on Shop Rides, then on "1st Timer Program", scroll down, there's two recent pictures w/ two of my new riders. (I have the DPF jersey on.)http://www.bikesunshine.net
* make up and answer at least one additional question.
What's in your future work plans? Job security, plain and simple. I want a position motivating people, to stop sitting on their duffs and think "goals". Think big...If you think it, believe it, see it...YOU CAN ACHIEVE IT! Benefits would be nice w/ said job...I pay $400 a month for (self-employment) health insurance and in 3 weeks (50), it's going up. %^%#(@*$&
* what is the biggest lie you've ever told: "You don't bike? Ummm, thank you anyway, I have a commitment Friday night. Ahhh, do I have plans Saturday night? Yes, oh yes, commitments all weekend."
* and, something fun: At the end of a hectic day, my son is going to bed, no interruptions, we read the daily comics together and then say prayers...best part of my day.

Okay... but this is against my better judgement

* real name, if you like: Kevan - pronounced as “Kev-in”, unless for emphasis you choose “Ke-VAN” - ; also answers to “Kev”, “Calfee-boy”, “Stud-Muffin” (Sandy persists!).
* where do you live? Chappaqua NY (I was here before the Clinton’s. Yup, they walk down the street, making nice with the natives.)
* explanation of your handle: My parents can’t spell?
* explanation of your avatar: Hey, one thing at a time… I’m lucky to avacar!
* age (general or specific): permanently fixed now at 39. Okay, forty-nine and soon to be fif…fi…f… in February.
* occupation: Sr. Internal Auditor for an energy trading firm. No… not Enron!
* favorite bike: The one I hold in my mind and lust over. Vanilla, red, lugged. Cold showers don’t help.
* what's in your stable? Calfee Luna
* fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 50+mph many places and times, looking still for the 60 mark; on the flats - it depends on who has joined the party, but if the mojo’s right, mid-30’s has been whistled. I love reading the faces of cyclists going the other direction.
* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year? I usually cap out around 2.500-3,000 miles in a season, but this one broke the 3k mark. Otherwise, without a computer I can’t be anymore precise.
* picture of yourself or your ride? Oh, haven’t you been subjected to enough already?
* make up and answer at least one additional question: Where are we going? Boy, I wish I had the answer to that one. I hope for everyone’s sake it comes 4 years from now. In the meantime, I’ll do my best to keep “hope” burning, continue to be cordial to both friend and stranger, and help mother Earth keep us alive.
* what is the biggest lie you've ever told: How badly I want Sandy.
* and, something fun: A beautiful weekend day that includes a hard and fast paced 50-70 mile ride with my buddies, a 30 minute power nap, a nice dinner out with she who must be obeyed, and attending a movie or party with friends or family. That still leaves me with Sunday, don’t it!
