CK Hubs
Disappointed in my CK hubs, durability has been an issue.

Expand please Steve. I've got thousands of miles on CK hubs that i have not touched except occasionally lubing of the ring drive with ordinary 10w-30 synthetic motor oil. what durability issues have you seen. very curious.

the rear hub seems to get loose, no big deal. Went to pedal across the street from a standstill and found myself face planted. Injured my leg and shoulder but kept my teeth. The lbs said that the internal body had broken from what was a possible crack resulting in the freewheel of the pedals thus putting me over the handlebars. The body was replaced at a 200.00 charge and not 3k later I have the same issue. LBS has said that the metal body is very thin resulting in failure. LBS has contacted CK for a warranty claim but it's time to fine hubs which are more durable. I'm not much on drama, but damned if I couldn't have been severely injured.

Ouch, zinger!
Probably true. That said, I'd be in for 2 sets. |
