I had a feeling, though I wasn't certain if it was "you". I thought the headbadge looked like a match, as did the description of the builder. My pleasure, you'll love it!

I went with a clamp for greater flexibility.

For those unfamiliar with Daniele, he's a top shelf gentleman and his frames are as nice as you'll find. Slotcar and polyglot have my eternal gratitude for their assistance in purchasing mine.

Old P, is it possible the builder asked about modern vs vintage component groups to decide whether to use horizontal or vertical dropouts. In my experience, 11s can get finicky with horizontal dropouts. Kind of a PITA to make sure the wheel is perfectly centered. Then on super steep hills and big power efforts there's always the potential for the wheel to move. And, yep, I use Campy Record QRs.

Anyway, why go with horizontal other than aesthetics or the flexibility to go single speed at some point.

I went horizontal for a combo of aesthetics and versatility; I like having some control over placement, and it can help fit larger tires. Haven't encountered any issues with it, but you're probably stronger than me.

Let's not forget if you blow a spoke the horizontal dropouts let you finagle a position to keep the wheel from potentially rubbing.

You just get more options than you otherwise might with vertical dropouts.

Gratzie! It's a good question you asked, and one I agonized over when I made the decision. Those campy skewers are also pretty darn slip resistant...with Mavics you have a problem!

Sorry to hijack, but maybe it can whet the OPs whistle!

OP - I have a buddy on another forum that does beautiful custom bar ends...

Let me know if interested and I'll hook you up.

Very nice, the color is quite understated.

Pics of the fork?
