Went riding in Morgan Hill today. It was a gorgeous day but marred by brutal headwinds for 20 hours

Winds were brutal Saturday, aborted before starting, but yesterday was extremely nice. The bottom of one of the least-ridden climbs in the Santa Monica mountains.

No, Rambla Pacifico. It's essentially identical to Las Flores but the bottom section is a private road with two gates (washed out decades ago, city of Malibu dragged its heels and eventually the residents paid to rebuild the road but there is a requirement to provide access to hikers & cyclists so the vehicle gates also have pedestrian gates). As a result, Strava and RideWithGPS don't allow you to map the full route.

There is a road partway up Las Flores (Hume) that connects to Rambla and lots of people do that route as a way to break up the LF climb, but very few people start on Rambla then cut over on Hume to LF. How many? On Strava, exactly 11, which is why I'm in the top 10 (in fact, #2 after yesterday, a scant 15 seconds from the KOM). If I gave a crap about top 10s I would keep this to myself, but I don't.

Too many snowy pictures lately. This is from the first leg of my nomadic journey west, which I had asked for advice about in the forum previously!

My view

To the folks lucky enough to live out west. I hate you. Not really, but I am jealous as hell. Great shots. Spring is coming, right?!

Nice pictures. It's good to see you made it to Moab. If you want a real workout check out the LaSalle loop or ride to Islands in the Sky, or Deadhorse Point. Arches is also a fun place to explore as well if it's not too crowded. Poison Spyder used to have free pamphlets highlighting the popular road and mtb routes that's worth picking up if you need them.
