Today the roads were finally clear enough to ride without too much risk. Still cold though.

A bit warmer today...around 38, so a little sloppy.
Prefer it to have been colder. SPP |

No snow here, but gonna get sloppy Sunday
Menemsha, and Middle Road. Bob Jackson with 700x35 CX tires, barely fit with rear wheel all the way back in the dropouts. Was fooling around with low pressures and a lot of weight in the handlebar bag to test out handling to inform my upcoming frame. This almost 49 year old bike just rocks! I had slightly over 10 pounds then dropped 7 pounds by emptying the water bottles in there. I think 73 degree HTA and 50mm trail of the old bikes really are a sweet spot. I can stand on the pedals, go downhill at 30 mph rock steady, and climb steeply at barely over walking speed, all with no issues. |

I love clicking through this thread each day to catch glimpses of riding in such different locations and conditions. Combined with the increased isolation of pandemic times, this thread has led me to plan dozens of different bike-related trips to different parts of the US and beyond . . . someday . . .
Yesterday's ride: 40 miles along the foothills of the Wasatch range. Clouds on the top of Mount Timpanogos. Ice on the ground at Bridal Veil Falls, though the falls themselves have begun to thaw. |

40 miles along the foothills of the Wasatch range. Clouds on the top of Mount Timpanogos. Ice on the ground at Bridal Veil Falls, though the falls themselves have begun to thaw. My old stomping grounds. Riding Provo canyon and the Alpine loop made me fall in love with road cycling 30(!) years ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
