It's not mine. I wish it was then I wouldn't have to wait near a year to get mine. It's definitely steel. I'm in love with it tho, wouldn't change a thing cept' maybe classic bend bars.
Every time I look at it I question whether to go the carbon fork? The steel one on this bike is just money.

Got the bike around 5 pm, was able to take the frame out of the box and ogle it for a bit and then had to go to dinner.. got home, built it up and took it for a spin down the cul-de-sac.. wow!!! it feels so fast and light!!

just for fun, weighed it.. 18.4 lbs as you see it (plus a set of XT pedals) in the pic.. can't wait to get this out on the road for a proper ride!

BTW- I need some water bottle cage bolts.. since it's a stainless steel frame, do I need anything special? just regular bolts?

Serotta RT

Big fan of my Serotta Rapid Tour that fits 32s. It was a lucky find.

Beautiful bike and great pick up!

I am pretty sure you can use whatever material bolts you like.

Keeping this thread alive.
Poached from the classifieds: feel like this bike belongs here.
Its gorgeous, perfect perportions. Everything you need and nothing you don't.
Dangit. I'd buy this in two seconds if it was my size!

Progress...

Build likely to be: Record 10 with Zipp 202 + R45. Uncertain if I transfer eeBrakes off an existing bike or just use some SR brakes.

How do we feel about a gold headset?

Pink is better, but gold is better than black or silver.

Frame looks fantastic.

That's the coolest Lobster I've ever seen! Gold headset would work... gotta match with a gold chain.

I'm wondering what to do with the SP - it's a 30.6, and Steve @ Hampco and Richard both recommended a shim down to 27.2. I wonder if it possible to ream it up to 30.9...

I've ordered the $12 shim from Cane Creek, but it's a JB Weld job. Would probably cut the piece in two and epoxy each half into the frame...

Why not just use the shim as intended?

EDIT: Oh, I see now--seat tube isn't flat at the top. That does make it more complicated.

Most of them have a "lip" at one end to prevent them from slipping down, so I'll have to do some hacking due to the lug tips. Let's see how things come out.

I wonder if, once you get your fit and exact numbers worked out with your preferred crank length and saddle, you could JB-Weld the modified shim to the seatpost? Then you could avoid having to permanently alter the frame.

It's not a bad idea - tbh, I think e-Richie might owe me a frameset for all this hassle :P
