Yep - original Merlin Extralight. had it for 15yrs+ now - still love riding it.

Still unsure about 11sp ergos. Functions great, but 10sp ergos had such a classic shape.

the larger horn on the 11 speed...

keeps your hands from slipping off on big bumps...90% of the time its irrelevant but potholes and bumps can really up end an outing.

Love my 10 speed ergos but think the 11 speed is an improvement

Thanks to @doomridesout I picked up a leather saddle. Preliminary shakedown ride was promising..wondering if anyone has any advice with this saddle? Nose up/down/level?

Just joined the forum because there seems to be a lot of good Serotta info here. Currently in the stand: purple CSI. Swapping the old Ultegra triple groupset, stem, bars, and seatpost for a modern-ish 1x setup for everyday riding around here. Can't wait to get it back on the road.

Working on a commuter for my daughter. She has a nine mile daily ride on the paved MUP. She's been riding an old 87 Diamondback mtb.

I'm hopeful that she'll like this.

I wanted to use gray or silver housing, but I can't find any local. What say you about black, which I already have?

YES! That's a cool setup and I bet it rides great.

Last year I got my HS jr. off her heavy midrange hardtail and onto a alum/carbon Sirrus. We dropped about 7 lbs out of her setup. It made a HUGE difference to her ability to use the bike in general. So much easier to ride, wheel it around, park, load, etc. She feels more efficient and rides faster. It's a better suited bike for her needs now and thus it is more enticing for her to ride.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find a lot of fans of your CSI here. Make sure you post some pics up to the Image Gallery when you're done. There's a few other purple CSIs in there too.
