Clean bike, good sunlight.

Turns out I really like downtube storage. Who knew?

We are riding from Gloversville at 10am up Bleecker mountain 309 to Tolmantown Rd in Mayfield. Some pretty good climbs and Adirondack back roads. Tolmantown can be pretty challenging depending on the time of year and precipitation or lack there of!

New GS1 build (currently with 32c contis). Prior generation frame but picked up for a song from Ventum. First time with electronic shifting. Integrated routing through the headtube looks great but the most difficult bike I’ve ever built

Not mine, but I love this Checkpoint that Lidl-Trek has for pit use...

I love the paint. They should paint all their team bikes in that design.

I sorta-kinda want to do a similar flat bar treatment to my Checkpoint. I think that would be a bit more comfy for bikepacking, and I don't do enough gravel racing for the aero hit to matter (and I could always add some stumpy aero bars if I felt the need).

One word of caution about flat bars: you lose the ability to change hand position. This makes a big difference for me. I really don't like long rides with my hands in a single spot - a drop bar opens up some new positions and improves comfort.

Last year at Skyway 100 (granted it's a MTB race), I used some carbon 'inner bar ends' on my flat bars. Mounted them inside the shifter/brake clamps so they were about 38cm apart, wrapped with bar tape for cushion and had AXS Blips on them. made for a great alt hand position on a very long (10.5hrs) day.
