this was one of my favorite rides of the year. Mostly all roads I'd ridden several times before, but strung together into a heck of a ride. (I'm the last photo)

A few miles after setting off from my cabin, we climbed up Brodhead Rd and admired the cows we would later eat. Bombed down South Hill Rd without even a thought of a brake lever. Quickly found ourselves on the big 1400' climb of the day up Deadman Mountain Rd. Thought we were at the top but then it got steep just to test our mettle and Steve did a wheelie the whole way. Followed a beautiful gravel skyway for 5 miles. Went down and up and down and up. Found a glorious cold Sugarloaf spring that both felt and tasted great, and excellent 5-star water pressure. Went the whole way down to Denning, enjoyed the perfect pavement and stopped for a beer at The Mule. Then thoroughly refreshed we felt downright European climbing up Blue Hill Rd and let loose on the downhill at 45+ mph, only to immediately climb back up on Hunter Rd. Left most of our legs in an alpine meadow at the top of Hunter Rd but used what was left to motor along at 20 mph on the fresh pavement along the Willowemoc. Forgot about the little 500' at up to 17% climb awaiting us up Hunter Lake Rd and we both just about imploded, both just wishing the other would get off and walk but finally reached the top and enjoyed the next 20 miles of bucolic country rolling hills. One last little climb with 4 miles to go was made more exciting by the 290 lb. Doberman Pinscher ferociously running alongside until the invisible fence miraculously stopped him. Rolled up the driveway and immediately drank the coldest, best tasting Coors Banquet beer in the history of mankind. So long, best and worst summer.

700c mode today for a quick ride. Had no interest in the stock wheel-set and these yellow/brown wall GK slicks so I set them up tubeless yesterday.

Adam, thanks for sharing, if I'm ever out your way again, I'd love to pedal this route. I like the idea of stringing together lots of known smaller rides into a "super route." Also, I have similar feelings about this summer "best/worst" sums it up pretty well.

Really digging some of these backroads up near the MA-NH border. Two hours on Wednesday and had a 30-minute stretch in the middle with no cars.
