Today I got to go for a 40 miler over a nice mix of hard pack, washed out sandy gravel, baby heads, chunky gravel and both rough and smooth pavement. This is a great all around bike!

@HilltopperNY -> The cairn graveyard is a little spooky!

@Madscience -> where does that "road" lead to? How long does it go for?

Morning ride. Trying to stay in the fog to avoid the smoke.

Irish settlement road has a stretch of a couple of miles with the cairns everywhere! There is Phipps cemetery towards the end of the road. Actually a lot of the dirt/gravel roads here have a graveyard located somewhere on them!

That looks like the eastern edge on the Nordic trails at Kettle. Of course it also looks like everything else in the region as well

You talking around La Grange?
Now I’m thinking of ZZ Top....

Back to bikes - many years ago I drove the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive from Whitewater up to Glenbeulah. I made cue sheets since the DOT claimed it didn’t exist (even though it was signed). Always thought that would make a good ride.

Strade Bianche

Throwback to mid august:
The Wife and I road tripped round the tuscan countryside in various agriturismi and i was allowed to bring the new to the stable Ti Waltly in the trunk
Got up at sunrise and man was it worth it! planned a 60K, 1200m altitude on 70% white gravel roads. Goosebumps, this was heavenly (Except for the 16%-ers). Thinking about participating in this year's 'L Eroica Nova.
