I love those legislators; they cry for free markets until the free market decide to hurt their own interests, then it is time for government intervention in production (aka socialism)...

Most importantly, have you discovered how to make it fart when you use the turn indicators?

The tax credits are for people below those AGI levels, which means they're available to ordinary people.
The average person in the US and specifically Colorado(Im a resident) can not afford a 47K vehicle and make the payments.

Ordinary people can not afford even the 28k vehicle in Colorado outside the Denver metro area.

I figured that. You don't like the idea that someone that makes more money than you is receiving a benefit that you don't take advantage of. That's petty.

You think you should be able to tell people what they're allowed to spend on cars?
No, I don't think anyone in my family's income bracket above or near should be receiving government aid when the government is in so much debt (see earlier spending link)

No, I don't care what people spend on cars, I was just surprised percentage wise. Of course you have no data to back it up, but I'll take your word.

As of 2019 Colorado had the 9th highest average income in the country, and you think the people of Colorado can't afford an average price car?

All of your carbon offsets went out the window with the EV once you ordered that lunch!

Drove to nearest in n out first ( sorry, but it is my traditional first stop when visiting the left coast), then straight to Santa Rosa.

Found the nearest supercharger and backed in with about 10 others. Car was 97% when I picked it up and here is a pic of it when I plugged it in. 99mi drained it to 60ish% and it took about 30 min to get it back to about 85%. Cost of charge was less than $12.

First thoughts are it is a little loud at speed, has a few nvh issues, and navigating the touchscreen is a pain when driving, but I’m sure I could adapt to it. Seats are comfortable. Interior is pleasant. View out the front is Great, view out the back is dismal. Instantaneous Speed is fun but strangely boring.

We’ll see how we get along for the rest of the week.

METRO AREA!

Do you have any idea how 15% of the state affects the other 85%?

Batteries have a long way to go. It will improve, that I'm sure of. These forced mandates are pie in the sky. EVs today are city runners.
I would love to be able to drive an EV, but 10 or so times a year I drive between Colorado and NY, Ohio, Tennessee, Atlanta and only stop 2-3 times for a 10 minute gas stop. If I could do that in a EV that cost less than my 15K maximum car budget...Im sold!

I think he meant to say "median" income (in which Colorado ranks 9th), which is less affected by outliers unlike the average.

As a resident of both Colorado and Atlanta(Kirkwood) I think his wording was exactly like he meant it to be heard!!!!

No, I rented thru hertz and they sent me a bunch of videos of how to operate the car, charge, etc.

I’m a hertz gold member so you just walk up to your car and the key is already in it and drive off. It’s pretty convenient.

The average new car payment in the US is $700/mo. Assuming a reasonable credit score (you really aren't going to be able get financing for a new vehicle with out it), the average new car buyer person is financing around $40k for their car. The average used car payment is a bit over $500/mo. Assuming similar rates and terms, that's financing around $30k.

They may not be able to afford it, but according to the numbers, people are doing it anyway.

Pro tip - somewhere on the control panel, set it so when the turn signal is on it shows the pillar camera on that side to check your blind spot. Use voice commands by pushing once on the right scroll wheel (wipers off, set temp to, defrost on, etc.) so you don’t have to use the touch screen as much. The auto wipers sometimes get carried away and I have to tell them to stop.

Have a fun trip!
