Here it is as it was originally conceived, in Strada Bianca. I lived in PDX for many years and asked Steve to design a road bike that didn't feel like a "rain" bike. He delivered and then some. Since moving to the east side of the Cascades the fenders came off, and the Shamal Ultra's went on. It still gets a heavy dose in the rotation and of all my bikes that have come and gone the Hampsten gets the most attention. I've even had other riders stop me to ask me about it.
Steve is awesome and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a custom bike.

Another Strada Bianca in winter mode. Like the blue one above, also has the now-unavailable Seven 5e midreach fork. (rip)
This one was built in 2013.

As nice as that Firefly is, Happycampyer's white Legend and (ex-)Ryun's Day is Done are always at the top of my list.

The two Eriksen-built Hampstens in the photo above sport Seven 5e forks. Steve was never fond of the aesthetics of that fork, but couldn’t argue with its tire clearance.

Hard to believe that nearly 8 years ago we organized a cinghiale dirt road randonnée (CDR2)—at least a couple of bikes had the Seven fork:

In the back you’ll spot Steve’s pistachio Strada Bianca that christian owned for a while. The picture of that bike strapped in the bed of a pickup truck was rim bike perfection.

Mine was actually built in-house by Max K, which makes it even more special.

Rest in peace, Max.

Of the two of mine, the first one was welded by Chris Moore, Kent E’s original welder when Kent set up shop after selling Moots, and the second by Brad Bingham.

When I was 15 my first real nicer bike was a World Voyager in Orange. Left an indelible mark on me for most brighter oranges I guess.

Maybe not the threads theme, but I'm posting anyway. It's a fun ride!

I have bad news for you Bill (well, worse for me since i’m older than you). The Hampsten owners group ride occurred on 9/27/14. So it will be 10 years ghis year!
