Finishing off the Tuscany rebuild with 7900. Waiting on cables to arrive. Got the frame buffed out today, replacement decals installed, as well as the major components.

Stem on the white MXL is a custom ti stem from Ti Cycle Fabrication in Portland, OR. Nice folks to deal with. It's a ti quill that takes a 31.8 handlebar. It'll outlive me by generations.

Bit off topic but I’d hazard a guess your MxL will look pretty Rad when built. Have you any pics of the complete build?

DS Road Fixie

This came to me with a "curly" NDS chainstay. I won't go into the details of the transaction, not a PL deal, but shame on me for not being more observant whilst inspecting the goods and shame on the seller for not disclosing the damage. In subsequent communications he claimed "Roland designed it that way" ... bollocks, there are clear signs of damage, caveat emptor.

Anyway, with some brute-force I straightened the NDS chainstay to a semblance of its original form (and added a dent for good measure!) and completed the build yesterday.

Frame/Fork: Mid-2000s Della Santa, dedicated road fixie with fender mounts. No shifter/derailleur braze-ons and no derailleur hanger (two "left" dropouts!).
Cranks/BB: DA7600/7610, 165mm/ITA
Chainring: Sugino 47t 3/32
Cog: Suntour Superbe 17t 3/32
Post: Ultegra 6600
Saddle: Fizik Antares
Pedals: DA7900
Headset: King Threadless
Stem: IRD 120mm/-17°
Bars: Virtue Major Taylor
Brake: DA7700
Lever: Tektro Cross
Wheels: Suntour XCPro Freewheel Hubs - respaced and converted to solid axles, Araya TX310 Rims, DT Comp Spokes, Conti GatorSkins

Ultimately, it will get a NDS transplant, new Campy 1010 dropouts (with hanger), Di2 drilling/reinforcements, brake bridge lower (front fits short reach at the bottom of the slot, rear needs 47-57 calipre), and a new paint job from Jim Allen @ CycleSmiths. I'm pretty sure Rolland never built a Di2-native frame, so this will likely be a unicorn. That said, I'm guessing there aren't many DS Road Fixies out there, so it will go from rare to rarer...

Nice!

Every time I ride my Serotta I say that it’s my favorite bike. Then I ride the Tuscany and I say it’s my favorite bike. Then I ride the Torelli and I say it’s my favorite bike. Then I realize I’m being stupid trying to pick a favorite bike because my favorite bike is whatever I’m riding because I’m on a bike. Even my wife’s 3 speed 10 ton Dutch cargo bike puts a smile on my face.

Decided to upgrade the wheels to double wall, re grease both bottom brackets, and address the undersized seatpost in front. I clamp the rear seat post in the workstand while the front wheel remains on the ground
