Sorry to hear you lost your TDI, that sucks.

All the TDIs must be sent to California, just spent a weekend test driving wagons and the VW dealer here has four.

2018/19 Buick () Regal TourX

These things seem to be bolted to the ground on dealers lots and they are being sold at a HEAVY discount.

Thought/comments/concerns?
Since the Sportwagen is going away are there any other pure wagons, without raised cuv or suv body clearance, besides the Volvo V60? In my experience jacking up a vehicle a few inches sort of kills the car-like handling.

Look around there are still quite a few TDI Sportwagens available.

Look for a 'S' model GSW with 4 motion..kinda under the radar because of 'demand' for the 'AllTrack'..essentially same car, same drive train, 16in vs 17in wheels and no sun roof..less whizbangery for less $..mine was $4k less than an Alltrack.

BTW-bad-car totaled, good-you weren't in it..

Class leading Mercedes E wagon and special order only Volvo v90.

I would suggest taking a look at 2-3 year old CPO Mercedes wagon.

The 2020 Passat looks good, but highly doubt the wagon will come stateside. A shame, really.

Just like the recently updated Passat Wagon isn't sold here...sigh.

I really enjoyed my '03 wagon, V6 and 4Motion. That ride took me to every CX race in Texas from '03 thru '06. It had good race karma too.

My '17 Passat sedan soldiers on...

The Buick wagon is supposedly a great value and loaded with features. CPO Audi allroad - might be a reach budget wise.

There's no "highly doubt" about it. We won't. In fact, we don't even get the European Passat sedan, do we?

It is astonishing to me the gorgeous wagons sold to the European market are not even given a chance in the North American market.
My hope is that manufacturers will one day soon "roll the dice" and see if they can make a go of it here and perhaps offer them again.

This. I'm not in the market now for a new car, but if I was this would be one of the first places I'd look. Dealers are giving away 2018 and 19 models. If you can get past the Buick nameplate, just remember it's an Opel underneath. Probably the last real wagon you can get from GM.

They were offered here but they sold very poorly. It costs a lot to modify European models to meet USA standards so low volume=BIG LOSS so we don't get them. Stockholders are not happy with management "rolling the dice" on products with a poor sales history.

Buick will probably sell about 11 of them

and then it too will be gone. Americans want SUVs.

Remember the last ditch GM GTO?

This was an Opel too:
