I like Jesse Marsch & think he would make a great USMNT some time in the future. His time at Leeds definitely damaged his reputation (and I think showed some of his tactical shortcomings). That he is enjoying success with Canada is great -- I hope it continues.
Having said that, hiring Poch pulls an outsider to manage the USMNT -- and that is what they need right now.

Berhalter is back - to the MLS (Chicago Fire).

Seems only fitting, seeing as it's not the Chicago Fire but the "Chicago Dumpster Fire"

I would say that he should do better at a club system where he'll have more time to institute his way of playing. He just wasn't right for USMNT from the get go despite some positives.

WaPo article on Poch (gift link here)
For those familiar with his tenure at Spurs, not much more additional info, but a good intro to those not familiar with him. There's also the issue of him steering Chelsea in the right direction but was fired before things could fully play out. |

Chelsea's lose is our gain. Same for Pulisic, Giroud, Abraham, etc....

I can understand wanting Pochettino but I truly do not understand why he would want or take the job.
And IMO the USMT kit looks like something that the singer's girlfriend designed. |

I do not understand what Poch is attempting to do with this line-up.
Very little build-up play as a result of what seems like shoe-horning a few players into a 3 ATB system… |

At the end of the day, I just want to see a successful USMNT. And I hope Poch is part of that. |

I would like to think no one will have to make anymore excuses or just wait 'till next year speeches

Holy shyte! Looks like Capitano Americano just scored an Olympico (direct from corner kick).
ETA: some hare-brained decision from Sahin to play bunker ball so early... Last edited by echappist; 10-22-2024 at 06:50 PM. |

Not USMNT: But, Italian kid - 15.5 year old Camarda had his goal ruled offsides. He is not even old enough to get a drivers license here in MA. |
