I think you have found the essence of cycling. Already posted, but what the hell.

The 7005 is exactly what SBC claims their bike to be. A fast, responsive, ready to race frameset. I was very surprised by the aluminum construction of this frame because it definitely doesn’t ride like one. I built it up with 25c tires and yet it was still a comfortable, smooth ride and at the same time, still very nimble and rode lighter than it weighed. Even the 6061 All-Road feels the same way with wider 38c tires.
I thought I was set with these two SBC builds, even sold the Storck but then the opportunity to go Ti was knocking at my door. Sadly, I’ve decided to sell/part it out because I finally bought and will be building up my first Ti frameset. Otherwise, I would’ve kept the 7005 longer.

Great bike and scenery, btw!

Not a ton of miles on it yet but no complaints so far. I have a wheels manufacturing thread together BB on it.

I’m aware of all the QC issues on the internet. Decided to buy through an official Open dealer just in case. I can tell you I spoke with three of the biggest Open dealers before buying and none of them had bad things to say about warranty issues with Open.

I honestly see no reason not to get one if it fits you. I’m running 650b x 2.1” tires just because I can. It’s stupid fun.

Thanks for the feedback!

That’s awesome. Can your also expound upon why you decided to buy through a dealer vs. directly from Open? Do you get additional support through a dealer in case anything goes wrong? I was contemplating buying directly from Open, but your post made me realize that perhaps a dealer could potentially be helpful in the event of any issues down the road, even if non-local.

Redeem yourself by putting lights on the spokes or streamers from those empty bar ends.
Like everything else right now, all sold out. Maybe I can just borrow your skinny jeans and tweed caps?

I haven’t ridden a fixed gear bike in 2-3 years. It’s a nice change.

i've ridden a lot of fixed gear miles myself, but seriously, for "gravel'ing" you might want to consider at least one brake!

this reminds me that i've been contemplating putting some fat rubber on my moots fixie for the winter!

Yeah can't imagine a skip stop doing much of anything on dirt let alone gravel. Probably be a hazard to anyone walking by as the rear wheel shoots rocks.

Actually, I feel safer going no brakes on gravel than road. But either way, I’m planning to get a front brake on there. And fatter tires, too.

Isn’t this “show me” not “tell me”? Where’s the pictures?

Just sent you a DM. I had a great buying experience from an authorized dealer.

Love the simplicity. Clean lines. No-nonsense look.

Sorry if it's been mentioned before .. but what is it?

And are those Ashima rotors?
