they look nice IMHO but function wise, no different from straight ones.

They remind me of what Litespeed is doing on the ultimate G bike. I think they look cool but don’t appreciate why a builder would bother to go to the trouble assuming the function is the same. Anyone have a thought on this?

I ordered them swept and Carl delivered. It's an aesthetic quality that doesn't affect performance and I'd been waiting for about 20 years to get a bike with them. For me I'm just glad Carl did them. I think giving the customer what they want is very important when you are a bespoke builder. Maybe it's like cutouts on lugs or in BB shells?

Thanks for the re and I think you are right about bespoke builders.

I picked up an older cannondale super x from our local craigslist equivalent, put some gravel kings on it, replaced some bearings, added a handlebar bag and framepump.

Oh and before you ask how the short cage mech shifts with the 11-36 cassette, it's .... not great. So the only thing that is left on my shopping list is a med or long cage mech.

I didn’t “need” this bike, but I’m glad that I got it. On a related note, when you swap saddles, make sure you torque the bolts properly.

Seven Evergreen S

Took some time to give it a light makeover this year. New king bits, decals removed, drivetrain cleaned and new bits installed, new 35c GKs, etc.
