A few days ago it was blue skies and light winds...what a great day to be out with friends on the bike for 70+miles.
I even included a bit of "mixed" surface in the ride...OK, actually I got surprised by the bridge that was always there before, not being there anymore... |

A little late posting this, but a Labor Day cruise on the Hampsten was just what the doctor ordered.

One of the ACROSS Lexington trails??? A couple weeks ago I stumbled across one of those trails and spent some time riding the endless wood bridges until I came to this sign post with some maps in a box. I read about the ACROSS Arlington trail system, which goes right past my house...

Crater Lake was closed to cars today. Perfect weather for 500+ cyclists. They are doing this again next weekend. Very well organized. Several rest stops setup with water and snacks. Check it out at ridetherim2015.com

Had a great day riding on the seashore the other day. After a dip in the ocean we were privileged to witness an amateur sky calligrapher practicing their craft. Someone named Appu must be real special.

One Bika to Rule them All
On Sat, I rode the Cielo on the World Famous Montrose Ride. The Cielo, generally, isn't my first choice for this ride as it's a fake race from start to finish with miles long 2% false flats which average around 25mph. Either way, the Cielo always kicks azz.
San Gabriel Valley's Finest (there's one cop in there) One of those false flats (looks slow doe) Cielo did not get dropped by these two National Champs and SoCal's most successful sprinterz (stealth brag) So, I took the Cielo on Montrose because immediately after the ride I drove up to Mariposa County (Yosemite) to ride da gravel Hey, let's build a road here This: Turned into this: Historic California Drought One to rule them all (City of Mariposa) Last edited by beeatnik; 09-21-2015 at 07:58 PM. |

The Good and Bad of California
Yosemite
On the way up to the Sierra's I detoured to a town where I spent a few years as a kid. When I lived there the population was around 6000 and Lindsay was the home to the world's largest olive cooperative. You remember Lindsay Olives. Anyhoo, they poisoned the groundwater and may have made half my family sick. Used to ride my bike every Sat to this place: Thanks for reading. Peace! |
