2020 Surron LBX. Great bike for the money stock but who among us can leave well enough alone? Many upgrades now. KO Moto motor & controller, Chi Compact 60v battery, Domino throttle, bash guard, 220mm fr rotor, Shimano HO3c pads, Woody's Wheelworks 16/19 wheelset built on their custom hubs laced to Excel Takasago rims w/ Michelin Starcross 5 tires. Billet rear suspension triangle and linkage. Tuned for ~16.5kw or about 22hp and weighs in about 140lbs. Have a Fox 40 fork and DHX2 shock waiting to go on along w/ Hope Tech 4 V4 calipers and braided SS lines. Aftermarket swingarm will go on then too and help keep the front wheel down when I goose it.

This thing is a hoot to ride on the local river trails!

Not so much. Taller folks opt for seat riser kits and tend to favor 18/21 setups. Probably better to be looking at the Ultra Bee model.

I am now in the process of moving to Vashon Island, a rural island just a few miles from Seattle with a population of about 11,000. Vashon is one of the better cycling communities in the metro Seattle area which might make it one of the better areas in which to ride a motorcycle.

I would love to hear from any Paceliners who may have added a motorcycle to their collection of two wheelers, what your experience has been like, happy that you did it, or think that this is a crazy idea.

Also if you have any bike (motor) suggestions I would appreciate it.

It sounds like your area would be a nice lower stress place to have a motorcycle. We lived in Kirkland years ago and the traffic was bad and I mostly idled on the motorcycle. The bicycle was much easier to commute.

79 XT500 with a 76 TT tank. I had the SR street version which I should of never sold (same with some bicycles) love these big single thumpers...torque mongrels👍

Ahh, the old foot breaker! I had a kick start 250cc thumper and, if you got the compression wrong, could really kick back hard. The 500cc doubly so!

Definitely need to have the sequence down pat! Tho I did have a KTM 400SX that didn't like my foot once😆

Had a 1982 Yamaha XV-920R for decades. Few in the states for 81-2. Lithium bath booted enclosed non o-ring chain system, Virago V motor, 2 carbs.


Then I got a Buell XB9 Lightning. Sold the Buell after few years and still had old trusty until 2015 until deciding I'd stick to bicycles and riding away from other vehicles mostly.

But it was very hard to tolerate carbs after the Fuel injected Buell.

I found myself looking online @ Latest CB125Rs, having bad ideas...

The guy that bought the XV-920R had an 81 [mine 82] new and had to sell due to $$ troubles few years later. Always looked for another one, finally found mine FS. He drove in from 4 hours away with his PU and trailer to fetch. After having it for so long it made me happy to have buyer be happy as such.
